This explains what the app does with information about you. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.

The short version. Your songs stay in your own browser. We hold your email address and a count of how much you have used. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us. The words you write are sent to Anthropic to produce the AI results you asked for. We do not sell anything about you to anyone.

Where your songs actually live

Lyrics, titles, styles, bands, albums, saved settings, cover designs and audio you attach are stored in your browser on your own device. They are not uploaded to us and we cannot read them.

The consequence is important: clearing your browsing data deletes them, and we cannot get them back. The app backs up automatically and has an export button. Please use them.

What we hold

WhatWhyHow long
Your email addressTo sign you in and to know which account has paidUntil you ask us to delete it
A count of songs generatedTo apply trial and plan limitsWhile your account exists
A one-way scrambled version of your network addressTo stop one person taking unlimited free trials. It cannot be turned back into your real addressRolling, short-lived
Sign-in codesTo confirm your email is yours10 minutes, then deleted
Your purchase recordTo keep your access workingWhile your account exists

We do not hold your lyrics, your song titles, your albums or your audio.

What happens to what you type

When you use an AI feature, the text involved - your theme, your lyrics, your style description - is sent to Anthropic, who run the AI model, so the result can be produced and returned to you. That is the only way the feature can work.

We do not keep a copy of what was sent. Anthropic's handling of it is governed by their own policies at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Practical advice: this is a songwriting tool. Please do not paste anything into it that you would not want processed by a third-party AI service - other people's private information, for instance.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never reaches us and we could not see it if we wanted to. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the email used. Stripe's policy: stripe.com/privacy.

Who else is involved

That is the complete list. There is no advertising network, no analytics company and no tracking pixel in this app.

Cookies and tracking

The app does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's own storage to remember your work and whether you are signed in. Nothing there is shared with anyone.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email thecrossroadsot@gmail.com and we will deal with it within 30 days. You can delete the work held in your own browser yourself at any time by clearing site data - export it first.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We apply the same approach to everyone: hold as little as possible, sell nothing, delete on request.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold information about them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will remove the account.

Security

Sign-in codes are stored scrambled, never in plain text, and expire after ten minutes. Sessions are cryptographically signed so they cannot be forged. Traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold very little that would be worth stealing.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
